Pluto is like that planet that's going through a mid-life crisis. Although, it's not the planet's fault. Scientists can't seem to decide if Pluto should be classified as a planet or not. In 2005, the discovery of many other planets larger in mass than Pluto were discovered, so scientists were forced to redefine what a planet is. Pluto, unfortunately, did not make the cut and was then referred to officially as a dwarf planet according to the new guidelines. Sad news for people who went through school making models of the solar system and spent hours making Pluto out of paper maché or Styrofoam balls.Â
Mars, however, has never been questioned as a planet in our solar system. It's the fourth planet from the Sun, and it actually has days and seasons that are similar to Earth. Don't let that fool you, though. Human life cannot be sustained on Mars. Yet. That's because liquid water cannot exist on the planet because of the low pressure.
