About This Quiz
Secrets define us. Why do we keep secrets? People keep secrets for many reasons. One of them is that we worry that if our secrets get out, other people will judge us. If we do this, people will change how they see us, and this could include people who we know well and love, and care about what they think of us. The truth is that when it comes to people who love us, most of the time the things we think are terrifying secrets about us are just facts they didn't know. When they find out about our secrets, it doesn't change how they view us because it's a drop in the bucket of facts that they use to imagine us. Another reason one might keep a secret is because one has done something one feels is morally wrong, or that one's cohort might view as immoral. Finally, there are outright crimes.
All secrets have one thing in common: we lash ourselves with them. We spend a lot of time worrying, chastising ourselves, even when no one else cares about or remembers our secret shame. The act of unburdening oneself of secrets is powerful, but it needn't be done by confessing to another person. It can be done by forgiving oneself, something only you can do for yourself. As to the fear someone knows your secret, we suggest you address it by taking this quiz, so we can guess your hidden secret!
