Most times when you think about a Disney movie, the first thing that comes to mind are the princesses. They are the female protagonists of every movie and much of the story is centered around them. They take on different roles from the damsel in distress, to the heroines of their story, and in doing so, inspire many young girls around the world. 

The Disney princesses come from many different races and backgrounds, some of which are born into royalty like Anna, Elsa, Ariel, Merida, Jasmine, Rapunzel and Aurora and there are others who became royals by marrying one of the Disney princes, like Snow White, Cinderella, Belle and Tiana. Some of them like Pocahontas and Moana were the daughters of village chiefs and as such, are also included in the group of princesses. There is also Mulan who is the first one to become a princess by not being born into it or by marrying a royal. 

With so many princesses and more of them being created every few years, it can be difficult to choose a favorite and sticking to it. Which of the official Disney princesses is your favorite?
