About This Quiz
Were you ready with your cosmo for every episode of "Sex and the City?" If you were, find out if you can ace this quiz.
HBO's huge hit, "Sex and the City," opened doors in television and feminism that were previously untried. The show had a huge following, but it was never a particular favorite of the critics. Most critics found it shallow and selfish. But HBO laughed all the way to the bank. After all, it's the viewers that count, and they love the show.
"Sex and the City" first aired on HBO in the summer of 1998 (was it really that long ago?). Starring Sarah Jessica Parker as the show's leading lady, Carrie Bradshaw; Cynthia Nixon as the cynical Miranda Hobbes; Kim Cattrall as the uninhibited Samantha Jones; and Kristen Davis as the somewhat prudish Charlotte York; the show explored the boundaries of sexuality and talking about it.
The show was based on the real-life Carrie, Candace Bushnell, who, just like her television recreation, wrote a weekly column. Bushnell turned her columns into essays, published them in a book titled.. you got it... "Sex and the City," and the rest is television history.
