About This Quiz
Thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (the MCU, to true fans), superheroes have become billion-dollar franchises at the box office, but the history of costumed and caped characters either with powers or scads of cool toys on TV is a rich one, as well. How much do you know about small screen super dudes and dudettes? This quiz will have you ready for your own cape and tights!
Thanks to Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu and other content providers, you can't swing a mutant cat without hitting a superhero show on the small screen these days. Even C-list heroes like Iron Fist and Jessica Jones have their own series, and "Legion" has linked itself into the MCU by creating a hero who may or may not be the son of Charles Xavier, better known as Professor X.
It wasn't always this way, though. Back in the early days of television, you could actually find far more superheroes on the radio than on the small screen. The the chiseled features of George Reeves appeared wearing his Superman togs, and the world was never the same. The '60s brought us the campy, psychedelic "Batman," with villains far more interesting than the heroes. (Burgess Meredith as the Penguin? Genius!)
The '80s pretty much confined superheroes to animated shows, but the '90s gave us a couple of Superman-based shows, and then the floodgates opened.
