About This Quiz

Explore the military vehicles that changed the course of land battles throughout world history. Can you name the armored tanks that we provide in photos? We invite you to strengthen your knowledge of mobile military might!

Military tanks are the beasts of land battles, but they have humble beginnings. During World War I, countries first witnessed the combat potential of these land rovers. But they were real clunkers back then. The more equipment and artillery the tanks carried, the harder they were to transport and maneuver. During World War I and World War II, countries produced numerous tank variants in response to the immediate needs of troops on the ground. The major war players developed a bit of tank-envy and unabashedly borrowed specifications from the models produced by other countries. Germany, Russia and France developed war machines that stunned the imagination and frequently destroyed other tanks. Famed armored carriers include the Russian T-34, the French Renault FT 17 and the German Jagdpanther.

The end of the Cold War triggered the beginning of the highly technological armored vehicles of today. Modern tanks are faster, better protected and more equipped than they ever were. In particular, the weaponry that these machines carry is space-age level. Tank cannons can blast a dozen rounds of projectiles per minute.
