Getting to pick and personalize all of the little details and not have to worry about the price. That sounds amazing. All that power though, is it too much? You could end up going a little too hard and getting so many things for which you don't have space and don't need. But, whatever. You'll worry about that later.
And what better way to christen life in your new dream apartment than with a brand new dog! Adopting a dog is just as, if not more, rewarding than designing your dream apartment from scratch. If you're thinking about getting a new dog, adopting really is the way to go. There are so many good pups out there looking for the best home and pet parent, and that could be you! You don't even mind paying the pet deposit because your new dog would mean that much to you. These two things put together, your dream apartment and your new doggo, will bring you so much joy in life, it's immeasurable. Do you want a first floor apartment or something else?
First floor is the easiest to move into.

They won't all be the same.
Tub/shower combos make the most sense.
The bathroom in the master bedroom will have a separate tub and shower.
I only need showers until I have kids.
If you could have any style of cabinets in the kitchen, what would you choose?
I like white distressed wood.
I want open shelves up top instead of cabinets.

Speaking of the kitchen, what countertops are you hoping to score?
I'm not too picky about countertops.
I would love a light-colored granite.
If I could have black quartz that would be awesome.
Be honest with this one. How many plants are you going to have in your apartment?
Oh, my apartment will be filled with them.
I'll start with one and see if I can keep it alive.
Hopefully, at least one in each room
Will you have a bar cart or coffee cart?
I will definitely have a coffee cart.
All my bar stuff will be in the fridge.
What are your thoughts on hanging art on the walls?
Art can be a bit overwhelming.
I love having stuff hang on the walls.
I have to pick a theme, then go from there.
I want a photo collage hanging.
Are you getting a practical or decorative coffee table?
I'm going to find one that is both.
Probably something more decorative
It needs to be able to put up with all my mail.
As long as it looks good with my other furniture, I don't care.
What will your storage situation be like?
I love the look of two bookshelves next to the TV.
Storage benches are all the rage.
Hopefully, the apartment will have lots of closets.
It will all be eco-friendly and sustainable.
How many bedrooms are you looking to have?
At least one so I can have an office
A guest bedroom would be nice, so two.
I would need three bedrooms, for sure.
If I could find four bedrooms, that would be awesome.
If you needed a rug, what kind would you get?
One of those faux fur rugs
Just a woven neutral-colored one
I like multicolored patterns.
Rugs just make things look cluttered.
Do you need ceiling fans?
They are definitely a necessity.
No, I can just get other fans.
I don't really care either way.
Where will you put exercise equipment?
In the living room, if there's space
Nowhere, I have a gym membership.

When it comes to getting comfy on the couch, what couch do you envision lounging on?
A linen sofa and loveseat combo
A wide sofa and an oversized lounge chair
An L-shaped sofa with a chaise lounge at the end
Will your television be hung on the wall or sit on an entertainment center?
I like the idea of it sitting on a credenza.
I don't know how to hang a TV!
I want to be able to hide it behind doors.
What kind of headboard or bed frame will really compete your bedroom?
I want a four poster bed.
A bed frame with storage drawers under it
A classic wooden headboard
How many people will your kitchen table seat?
A round table that can seat up to four would work.
Maybe a table that could expand to fit six people
What would you do if your apartment didn't have air conditioning?
I'd get a couple of window air conditioners.
Try to find another apartment
Will your bathroom towels match the shower curtain?
There will be a general color theme.
The main colors will be the same.
Are you repainting?
Only if the walls are a really horrible color
I would love light gray walls.
Only if I don't have to paint it back at some point
What's the color scheme of your kitchen?
I want plain plates, but can have more fun with the towels.
Will you drape throw blankets over the arm of the sofa?
Only i​f it's a cute blanket
I haven't thought that far ahead.
How do you feel about wallpaper?
They make some really cool geometric prints these days.
If it's removable, I'm a huge fan.
It's a little too old school for me.

In the entrance area by the front door
Anywhere the space needs to feel bigger
The one in the bathroom is enough.
What kind of nightstands will you put next to the bed?
Ones that match my bed frame/other bedroom furniture
Nightstands are unnecessary.
Open ones that won't look chunky
Window treatments can really bring a room together. What kind are you hanging?
Windowsill-length curtains are cute.
Floor length curtains make a room look regal.
I'm good with just blinds.
Sheer curtains to let in a lot of light
