About This Quiz
What's your Myers-Briggs type? Are you a bossy ESFJ, a sassy ESFP or a shy, calculating INTJ?
In case you're not familiar with it, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, or MBTI, is a personality-typing system based on Jung's theories. It divides people by the way they interact with the world. Each letter in your Myers-Briggs type stands for a different quality: Introverted or Extroverted, Sensing or Intuiting, Feeling or Thinking and Judging or Perceiving.ÂÂ
Some people incorrectly think that you can calculate your score by deciding whether you are an introvert or extrovert, perceiver or judger, etc., but actually, the Myers-Briggs letters represent paired cognitive traits, which the MBTI defines as functions.
Ne, for instance, stands for Extroverted Intuition, while Fi stands for Introverted Feeling. When you plan an event, you use Ne to imagine how each step of the night might go. On the other hand, when you're working through an ethical dilemma, you're probably using Fi.
Everyone uses all of the functions in their everyday lives, but the functions you use the most form the core of your Myers-Briggs type. Interestingly enough, each Myers-Briggs type also corresponds to a mythological archetype. Jung loved discussing archetypes in his work, as he felt they represented eternal drives in human nature.ÂÂ
If you'd like to find out which Myers-Briggs type you are AND which mythological animal symbolizes that type, we invite you to take this quiz!
