To be a true American means a lot of different things to different people. To some, it is the symbolic kind of stuff, like saying the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag, taking their hats off when the national anthem is sung and flying the stars and stripes outside their home. To others, the whole thing has to do with whether or not they are willing to fight for their country in a war and then to other Americans, they judge their patriotism on American values of freedom.

No matter how you judge how American you are, there is no right or wrong, that is one of the cool things about being from this country, having the freedom to disagree with others on what being an American really is. But still, no matter how you slice it, there are a whole lot of things that are typical of Americans, and how they live their lives.

Where are you on the scale? Are you a true-blue American, or are you the type of person who would be more comfortable in Sweden?  Perish the thought. No one can tell you how American you really are, but taking this quiz can give you a pretty good idea.
