About This Quiz
"On an island in the sun. We'll be playing and having fun!" While we can't physically transport you to an island right now, we can bring you there virtually with this quiz! There are quite a few islands sitting around in our oceans. How well do you know the world's islands?
When we think about the geography of the world, we are first given the seven continents. While Antarctica is by definition an island, no one lives there permanently! This leaves us with the remaining six continents: Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America. These six continents are made up of 195 countries, 47 of which are island countries.
While these 47 nations account for almost 25 percent of the world's countries, there are more than 2,000 islands sitting in our oceans and seas. How well do you know them?
When most people think of islands, their minds immediately transport them to the Caribbean. They imagine themselves lying on a beach in Jamaica or the Bahamas. What many fail to realize is that there are islands all over the globe. Australia, one of the continents, is an island! The country of Italy in Europe has numerous islands. From the western hemisphere to the eastern hemisphere, how well do you know the world's islands?
Will your answers leave you sitting under a palm tree by the beach or will you be freezing in Antarctica?
Let's find out!
