About This Quiz
Have you ever looked at a United States map and wondered, "How the heck did they decide that state ended there, and that one started there?" A lot of states in our marvelous country have geographic boundaries, like a river or an ocean, but some of the landlocked states seem like they were drawn pretty much arbitrarily.
Quick! What does Wyoming look like? If you don't live there, it's a safe bet you can't draw a reasonable approximation of what it looks like. Not to insult the fine people of Wyoming, but your state's boundaries are fairly straight-line affairs.ÂÂ
Now, states like Florida and California, with major seacoast frontage, are easy to recognize. There are no states in the union that look even remotely like those. And Texas stands out partly because it's so darn big, and partly because of Texans' endearing habit of plastering the state on any product produced within its boundaries. I guess we should cut them some slack since they were an independent country for a while.
Now, down to business! In this quiz, we'll show you the outline of a state and it's up to you to come up with the name. Cast your mind back to middle school geography and take it now!
