About This Quiz
The word profession is defined as "a vocation founded upon specialized educational training, the purpose of which is to supply disinterested objective counsel and service to others, for a direct and definite compensation, wholly apart from expectation of other business gain". Growing up, most people are taught that having one of these is necessary to succeed in life.ÂÂ
In medieval times, only three professions were recognized; medicine, law and divinity. These so-called "high society" careers were exclusive ... but as time has passed it went on to include everything from acting, to babysitting to teaching.ÂÂ
All professions require tools to do their job effectively. Some tools are more easily associated certain career. For example, doctors and veterinarians are often seen carrying stethoscopes, construction workers are often seen wearing hard hats while firefighters are often seen using hoses and wearing rubber boots. There are also those which are more difficult to identify like priests who use their crosses and security guards who use walkie talkies.
