About This Quiz
When seven young people started Tinder, it was following the model of its spiritual (but no corporate relation) ancestor, Grindr. Grindr is a hookup app predominantly used by gay men, aimed not so much at creating real relationships, but more at physical fun. Tinder was an attempt to create a safe way of accomplishing the same thing for anyone seeking anyone else! The original criticism of the app was that straight women would not like the idea of such a service, but that quickly changed when Jamie Anderson, an athlete at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, said that in the Olympic village, Tinder use was "next level." Soon, Tinder was a word everyone knew.
Whitney Wolfe, one of Tinder's founding personnel, left the company to found Bumble. Many other original members also moved on to other ventures, and the company continued to evolve. What began as an attempt to move a chunk of the dating population to the app turned into so many people coming to Tinder that many members aren't looking for hookups at all, but actual relationships that perhaps start with a profile photo and a few well-chosen words. At its core, the app is all about short term fun where no one gets hurt because no one has unrealistic expectations: everyone is on the same page. What percentage Tinder are you? Take this quiz and we'll tell you!
