About This Quiz
No matter whether you're short, tall, muscular or super proud of your dad bod, there's a sport for you. Which one do you think fits you best?
You can develop your skills and technique, but you can't change your genetics. If you're not freakishly tall, it's unlikely that you'll become a professional basketball or volleyball player (but not impossible!). However, being short is an advantage for other sports like equestrian and Olympic weightlifting.ÂÂ
Some characteristics of a good athlete are less obvious. To be a top sprinter, you need to have a high percentage of fast twitch muscle fibers that can fire in a fraction of a second. If you want to be a champion marathon runner, you'll need to have plenty of slow twitch fibers that are resistant to fatigue.
When you train for a particular sport for many years, your body can change to adapt to it. For example, triple jumpers withstand very high ground reaction forces that reach many times their own body weight. Due to the repeated pounding, their bones adapt by becoming denser so that they don't break.
Sometimes just because you're good at a sport doesn't mean that you're interested. Start this quiz now to find out which sport best fits your interest!
