"The Sopranos" is one of the best television shows of all time and one of the most popular ones, too. The reasons for this are too many to list.  For one thing, a lot of people like television shows and movies about the mob, but "The Sopranos" was one that was actually good. It was about men who spent their days robbing, stealing, beating people up and sometimes killing, and then followed them home while they played good family men with their wives and children. All of us lie to ourselves in some way, but these guys take it to a whole other level. Of course, the writing and directing were amazing, as was the acting, but what really made this show amazing was the characters.
