Disney movies have always been full of animals, dating back to their first feature, the 1937 hit "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves." Some of these animals are, well, more like animals than others, being mute creatures who just sing along or help the hero without speaking while some are fully anthropomorphized, like the singing mice of "Cinderella" or the eponymous heroes of "The Fox & the Hound."  

Some of the most beloved Disney animals include horses. There's Merida's fine steed Angus from "Brave," or the adorable puppyish Bullseye from "Toy Story." There's Pegasus in "Hercules," whose ability to fly is possibly correlated to the fact that he is not weighed down by having a brain in his head. Mulan has the boldest of the Disney horses, the mighty Khan, while Prince Eric rode the first stubborn one in "Sleeping Beauty."

All these horses and more would be fine spirit animals to watch over us, protect us from evil, or help us find the way when we're not so sure. However, you can't simply adopt any old spirit animal.
