The X-Men are a fictional group of superheroes which were produced by Marvel Comics back in 1963. The group, which was led by Professor Charles Xavier, a powerful telepath (among other things) , is made up of a subspecies of humans called mutants, who were born with superhuman or special abilities. He later opened up a school for "gifted" children in which he taught them how to use and control their powers and many of them later joined the X-Men.

The members of the X-Men possessed a wide rage of abilities and whether it was being a shapeshifter like Mystique, being able to control the weather like Storm, manipulate metal objects like Magneto, possess the ability to heal oneself like Wolverine, or being able to phase through solid objects like Kitty Pryde, their powers were a force to be reckoned with, and they were often feared for it.
